After our discussion on art literacy through classroom strategies, I believe this is one thing I am doing well (or would like to celebrate)...and this is one strategy I would like to try/or a lingering question I have for a fellow art educator regarding their use of a specific strategy to foster art literacy.

I am really pleased with how my incorporation of physical movement into our art experiences this year has helped the students engage with art concepts/terminology in new ways. From dance to gesture to dramatic interpretation of artworks during our Fitness Friday circuit, I have noticed an improvement in their comprehension, engagement, as well as their retention of art concepts and terminology.
I am still working on becoming more familiar with and creating more links between KY's Dance Core Content and our Visual Art Core Content. I work to make these links and connections tighter and even more purposeful as the years progress - but I am already hooked! I can undeniably see the value of including physical movement into my art curriculum!
